Took a brief stay while exploring the nearby attractions like the Kyoto Tower and Nishiki Market. The traditional Japanese breakfast served in-room was absolutely delightful, showcasing an array of beautifully arranged dishes. Additionally, the onsen offered a relaxing retreat after a day of sightseeing. Though the room had limited natural light, it was still clean and comfortable, making it a perfect place to unwind.

The onsen was a delightful surprise, providing a

whole space privacy, accessibility to restaurants, proximity to Kyoto station
Food offerings lack variety for the price!!! Check-out time of 10 AM feels excessively early!!! A clear warning about additional taxes and the nature of the private bath would be helpful!!!

the staff were friendly, but I didn’t receive the complimentary gestures I deserve for my stay. The breakfast was rather plain and the bathroom outdated, but I suppose that's what I get for staying at a place with such high expectations. I almost gave a good review, but just couldn’t when I realized how overpriced everything was.

I stayed in the Japanese-Style Room for 2 nights and it was spacious enough for my family. The tatami mats felt great and the futons were super comfy for sleeping. Just a heads up, it was a bit hard to find the place at first, but once we got settled, it felt like a cozy sanctuary after our daytime adventures. Plus, the traditional Japanese breakfast was a nice way to start the morning!

Fantastic stay at Towa Ryokan! The private bath was amazing, and our Japanese-style room was comfortable and clean. The staff greeted us with matcha tea and even arranged a gluten-free breakfast for me. It felt great being so close to Kyoto Station, with grocery stores just a short walk away.
Finding the location was a bit tricky.

It was just a prime choice for a short stint in Kyoto with reasonable value. The onsen in the basement was a nice surprise after a long day of sightseeing. Make sure to check breakfast hours, they’re quite early.

great staff but tight for families
The staff here are truly exceptional, with Nao being a memorable highlight of our stay. The traditional Japanese breakfast was remarkable, offering a variety of options that catered to all tastes. The onsen in the basement was a relaxing escape, especially since it was available when I wanted to use it.
The Japanese-style room felt a bit cramped for our family of five.
